22 for 22 Memorial event – Laken Hope Riley

Tragic incident happened on February 22, 2024, in Georgia USA. Laken Hope, a 22 year old American nursing student, was abducted and killed while she was jogging at the University of Georgia. Laken loved running and was training to run a Marathon. She planned to live her life helping others. She loved God, her family and friends. Laken loved life!

To commemorate Laken, her life, her dreams and support her family, friends have organised an event in her name. Called ’22 for 22’, people will walk or run 22 laps around her old school’s running track, at River Ridge High School, Woodstock, Georgia USA. Donations are being raised for the ‘Laken Hope Foundation’ – to help future students.

On 17th May in USA, hundreds of people ran the 22 laps around the running track. Here in the UK, Team Chariot completed the event virtually, but in it’s normal style…. that’s 22 miles, rucking with 22lbs, & with 22 exercise reps each every mile. What a way to honour & show support for the ‘Laken Hope Foundation‘ and remember Laken Hope Riley.
